or we will kill him when we find him and then return
to kill you, when we see him, we won’t harm him, we
just need something from him, but if you don’t tell
us and allow us go through the stress of finding him
by ourselves, then both of you are gone” he said and
kicked her, leaving her helpless.

Episode 10
It was a sunny day at about 11:35am in the
morning, David was still on bed, he called Kate’s
phone, it was switched off, it was quite on
unusual for Kate to switch off her phone. He
called her house, she wasn’t there. He wondered
where Kate would be. He laid back to sleep before
he steps out to go and give the police the book.
Few minutes later, a knock woke him up, he asked
who it was, he had Kate’s voice, he smiled, and
she was safe after all. He opened the door and
what he saw faded his smile. He saw Kate,
kingsley and two other guys. “what are you
people doing here” David asked angrily. “This is
him, you can take the book and go” kate told
kingsley. “What nonsense are you saying Kate? I
thought you were with me, how can you help and
still betray me, why did you bring my enemies
here, why” he said sadly. Anyway there is no
book here, so you all can leave. David said.
Kingsley pushed the door wide opened, entered
the room and pointed a pistol to him, “If you don’t
want to die, let us have the book you are about to
hand over to the police, do not waste our time” he
said. David repeatedly yelled that there was no
book with him. Angry David got hold of an object
and quickly hit one of the boys to the ground.
Kingsley threatened to kill kate if he doesn’t hand
over the book. “you can take her for all I care,
after all she just proved to me that she doesn’t
love me and I meant nothing to her, as for the
book, I am not letting you have it and I can bet my
life on it” David replied his threat. Kate was
already sobbing and scared.
Isioma appeared and was weeping, calling out to
David for him to give them the book, that she
doesn’t want another of her loved one to die
because of her again. “Isioma, I decided to start
this quest and I must get to the end. They can’t
do crap, stay away from this Isioma, I can handle
it” David said. Kingsley laughs at his assumed
stupidity and was grieving in anger. The
discussion was not yielding any result, he shot
David. “Nooooooo” yelled Isioma and kate, Isioma
disappeared in anger. Kingsley quickly ransacked
the room and found the book where he hid it and
ran out of the hotel. David was lying lifeless on
the ground. Kate cried and cried. The hotel
security came quickly and rushed him to the
hospital.
Kingsley took the book and fled with no trace. He
went to his hideout to look at the content of the
book. He and his guys sat down on a round table
and flipped each page. He was shocked at all he
read. He read every detail of how he raped her
each passing day. How she took her life and
everything that could take him behind bars if the
police get hold of the book. “Guys this dead sister
of mine wan implicate me ooo…everything she
write for here na detailed evidence” he told his
friends. We have no choice than to get rid of the
book, before the police starts looking for us, this
one wey we don kill person” One of the guys said.
They took the book, took it to a corner and burnt
it to ashes. They celebrated their victory.
The doctor confirmed that David was not dead but
unconscious, he was lucky that the bullet was
able to be removed and it didn’t get to a part of
the body that could make him die on the instant.
“how long will he be unconscious” Kate asked
nervously. “I can’t really say. The only thing that
will save him from this is prayer” the doctor
replied her and walked away.
She broke down in tears. It was all her fault, she
would have just allowed them take her life, she
was only doing it to save David’s life, she didn’t
want them to take his life but yet they still tried to
do so. Isioma appeared to her. “It wasn’t your
fault, I understand how you are feeling, he will
survive it, just have faith” Isioma said to her. “You
monster, because of you all these is happening,
my love is in a comma, you want them to take his
life too like you did to your own. Go away, you are
bad luck” she yelled in tears at Isioma. Isioma left
in guilt. Kate was right.
Kate made up her mind that she was going to do
this her own way. She kept coming to check on
David in the hospital everyday but no
improvement. She took the police to search for
Kingsley everywhere but he was no where to be
found. He was no longer at his usual hideout.
She had no choice than to pray for David’s
recovery, even if David wakes up now, there is no
book to be used as an evidence for Kingsley’s
crime. He is on the run.

Episode 11:
Two weeks has passed and David was not looking
like he was recovering, he has been lying on the
hospital bed unconscious. The police have been in
the search for Kingsley and his gang for the
shooting of David.
She sat close to his bed, held his hands and
placed her head on his body. She has been
praying continually for the recovery of David. She
blamed herself for making this to happen. She
would have just let herself go than to watch David
die and also watch the book go. The doctor
walked inside the ward, looking at her in pity. He
advised she should go home and refresh herself
instead of laying around the hospital.
She hesitated and said she is waiting for David to
wake up. He pleaded with her to leave and come
back later. Kate left the hospital sad, depressed
and down casted.
Few hours later, Isioma appeared and stood close
to David’s bed, tears ran through her eyes. Kate
was right, it was all her fault, she made all these
mess to happen in the first place. David was
supposed to be living his life and not going
through hell because of her. She thought of Kelvin
who was still in prison because of her stupidity.
She wished she had never killed herself and
making other people suffer for her misfortune.
She saw David hands moved. She was shocked.
She watched closely to see if it was not just her
imagination. He moved his hand the second time.
She screamed for the doctors but no one could
hear her. She called out to him and he slowly
opened his eyes. “Isioma” he said in a weak
voice. “David, oh my God, you are alive, I am so
happy, I am very sorry for putting you through
this” Isioma replied him.
“it is not your fault, That witch called Kate is the
cause, she betrayed me” he said in a faint voice.
“Don’t say that, you should be thanking God that
you are alive and not insulting an innocent girl.
She was only trying to protect you David. Her life
was threatened, it was not her fault. She never
meant to hurt you, she has been here the whole
while.” Isioma said to him.
He tried to sit up but the stitches he had prevented
him from doing so. He laid back until a nurse
came in and saw him awake. She ran and called
the doctor.
Kate walked into the hospital and heard he was
awake, ran to the ward. She jumped on him.
“Baby, oh my good lord, I am the happiest girl in
the world. I am very sorry that I betrayed you, I
never knew it would turn out like this” she said
smiling. David smiled back and they chatted.
David spent extra five days in the hospital before
he was discharged. He thought of what Kingsley
would have done to the book. He knew that this
quest was taking so long than required. He asked
kate to follow him to the police station.
“Why do you want to go there, they have taken
the book and I have already reported them. There
is no point, the police have searched and
searched to no avail. So why would you want to
go there?” Kate stood up from the chair she was
sitting, curious. David reassured her that it was
something different that was taking him there. He
took his brief case and both went to the station.
David told the police that he has gotten concrete
evidence that could put Kingsley behind bars for
life. He then handed over the book to the police.
He said that was the whole detail of how he
dehumanized his sister and made her commit
suicide.
Kate couldn’t believe her eyes; she wondered
where David got the book from. He must have
made series of copies of the book without telling
her. The police assured him that Kingsley would
be searched for and brought to book.
David smiled at Kate. “I was smart after all” he
said. She was so happy that David kept this to
himself and he was smart enough to have even
kept the secret away from her. He obviously
doesn’t trust anybody. Many weeks passed,
Kingsley was still on the wanted list, he was
nowhere to be found.
It is already 2years since Kelvin was thrown into
prison. He is now very sick in jail. he has been
diagnosed with Kidney failure. He was admitted
at the prison hospital. The doctor said he had to
undergo a kidney transplant. Donors were been
sort for to keep him alive but no one was ready to
donate a kidney for him. Kelvin begged the
doctors to leave him so he could just die. There
was no reason for living when he is going to
spend the rest of his life in jail for a crime he
never committed. “Kelvin must not die as a result
of my foolishness, he must get out of here real
fast”. Isioma said to herself.

Episode 12:
A cold night, the moon was out so early, David
and Kate cuddled so tight, it was their first night in
a long while. The way her body existed only
where he touched her, the rest of her was smoke.
David was now in that state of fire that she loved.
She wanted to be burnt and he was ready to make
her burn up in strong flames. He felt that he was
not into her, he did not know when he ended and
she began.
He pressed her to his naked chest and gently
went through her thighs, rubbed it in motion,
clipped his lips to her and they went down till she
began screaming. It was the best night they both
had in a while.
David and Kate were out on a date the next day,
they have not had a good time for many weeks
now. They sat on a round table, drinking, chanting
to merry. A Policeman entered the restaurant and
called on him. He wasn’t expecting the police. The
policeman said ‘Good day, Mr David. We have
Kingsley and his men in our custody”.
David stood up quick and smiled. “wow that is a
wonderful news, how did you find him?. “he was
involved in a robbery operation at Lekki, so we
apprehended them before they took off, then we
found out he was the same person we have been
looking for” the policeman answered. “you don’t
know how happy I am right now, we will join you
at the station shortly”. David said.
Kate was smiling and said ‘guess the quest is
over, at long last, we can now sleep with our two
eyes closed’ “it is not over, Kate” David
answered. She was shocked at his reply, what
else does he want, she wondered to herself. The
book has been found, Kingsley apprehended,
what more? She asked David.
‘Kelvin, we need to get Kelvin out of that prison
real fast. He is dying, he needs to be flown abroad
for a kidney transplant as soon as possible” David
said sadly. “so how is that your business, I don’t
remember you telling me that Isioma instructed
you to take care of him” Kate said angrily. David
took his drink, sipped it and asked her to change
the topic.
Few hours later, David and Kate arrived at the
station; Kingsley has been badly tortured and
thrown into the cell. The police asked David to get
a lawyer because Kelvin can’t be released without
appearing in court. “A sick man cannot appear in
court, please can you allow us to take him away
from here and give him a better treatment. He will
appear in court when the need be” David pleaded
with the Chief of warders
The prison warder agreed after much more plea
and allowed them take Kelvin home but they had
to take an order from the court first. Few days
later, the court granted them the order and they
were allowed to take Kelvin for treatment.
********************In Kate’s House****************
Kelvin lying in pains said “please allow me to die,
there is no need for anymore stress, I can’t live
with this, where do we get 10million for a
transplant talk more of the Kidney to be
transplanted. Isioma then appeared to him. She
was in tears, she was pained. She overlooked
David and Kate who was seated and began to talk
to Kelvin.
“My love, my joy, my happiness, my heart beat,
my love for you erupts like an earthquake and
then it subsides when I see you in pain. Love is
not excitement, it is not breathlessness, it is not
the desire to mate every second of the day. It is
not lying awake at night imagining that you kissed
every part of my body. If all else perished and you
remained, I will still continue to be. I have for the
first time found what I can truly love, I found you,
I loved you, and I cherished you” Isioma said
sobbing.
If you loved me, you won’t make me go through
this, if you loved me, you won’t kill yourself, if you
loved me, you won’t hide anything from me, if you
loved me, you won’t be dead” Kelvin said in a
weak tone.
“I never meant to, I deeply regret my actions, you
are my sympathy, my better half, my good angel, I
am bound to you with a strong attachment Kelvin.
Please and please don’t die. I am sure the money
will come somehow. I am very sure we are going
to make sure we do this real fast” she said
crying.
Kate was touched with a strong emotion, she felt
it was her, when you see the love of your life
dying and you can simply do nothing but cry. “I
will donate one of my Kidneys”. They all looked
around and Isioma asked. “You said what? “I said
I will donate one of my kidneys” Kate said. They
all looked surprised. “Are you sure of this baby?”
David asked her again. “You guys should stop
making me look like a monster, I said I will donate
my kidney” she said smiling.
Isioma thanked her in tears. She appreciated her.
Kate has done a lot for her. “Kingsley is
appearing in court in three weeks time, and we
are also supposed to be there to witness it.
Please let’s make it fast so we could fly back as
soon as possible” David said. “The problem now
is cash” Kate said.
