Previously on the Chronicles of Isioma:
Isioma appeared to him again and this time he told
her he
can’t help her and she should stay away. She sobbed
and told him she wasn’t going to leave.
“I will onlyhelp you on one condition” David said.
Isioma wondering what she can do to make him agree
to
help her, asked what was it. “Make me able to touch
you” he said.

Episode 7
David was very happy; Isioma has stopped
appearing for days on hearing his condition to
help her. Happy because he knew that she was
gone for good, she was just a spirit and he will
never be able to touch her but the fact that the
condition he gave her could make her leave for
days, means, she was not going to come back.
Let her look for someone else to send on ultimate
search, he consoled himself from feeling guilty.
Isioma wasn’t going away for too long, she was
just looking for a way to get herself to be touched,
but it wasn’t possible. Many weeks passed,
Isioma hasn’t still appeared to David. One day,
David was fast asleep, it was 3am in the morning,
he heard a lovely song from a female. He thought
it was a dream until he woke up to see Isioma.
‘Oh my God, how did you… I mean, why did you
come back?” he asked, looking very scared. She
smiled, stood up and said “was giving you time to
think, I am back for you, are you ready to help
me?” David who has become even more scared,
looked at her and said yes. His yes sounded so
loud and scary, as if she used a charm on him.
Few days later, Isioma and David walked down to
the place where she buried the book. He looked
around, he saw it was a very lonely environment,
one that would pass for a ritual place. The ground
which was an empty land when she buried it was
now a farm. A big business man had bought the
land and is using it for a cassava farm. The
whole land was full of cassava plants, there was
no single empty space. “can you tell me the exact
place, let’s know where to begin from? David
asked. Isioma was looking more confused than
anyone else. “I can’t identify it anymore, I just
know that it is here, Oh God, I am finished, why is
this happening na?” she sobbed.
When you were burying the book, your sense
didn’t tell you that the owner of this land will use it
one day, do you expect it to be empty after two
years? David said angrily. He walked around the
farm, looking confused and worried, he has come
a very long way to come and meet this kind of
result. Day 1 of the search seems to be a total
waste of time. Isioma was trying to recall the
exact place, but everywhere has changed.
While they were still looking around, a man rushed
in to meet David. ‘What are you doing on my
farm? Are you here to steal from me?” he asked.
Are you the owner of this farm please? David
asked the man. I don’t know if you are deaf or is
that your brain is not functioning, I asked what
you are doing on my farm, does that not answer
the question on your mind before you asked if am
the owner? The man replied. “I am very sorry sir, I
was trying to look for something my friend buried
here three years ago. Since you are the owner of
this farm, please did you by any chance come
across anything that looks like a book while
working on the farm? He asked.
Who is your friend, and why did he or she bury the
book here? He asked David. David then narrated
everything to him. The man who did not say a
word while listening to the story just said “I am
coming”. The man left and came back some
minutes later with the police.
David explained himself to the police and he was
taken away to the police station for trespassing.
The farmer said David had wanted to steal from
the farm and came up with a strange story to
cover up. David’s story drew attention far and
near. He was tagged as a thief and a mentally
challenged man. How can a spirit appear to you?
He was not detained for too long as there was no
concrete evidence that he was a thief.

Isioma’s brother, Kingsley was leaving the house
one morning. Suddenly his friend, came into the
compound in a hurry, Kingsley was scared that he
asked him, what the matter was. Kingsley,
Kingsley have you not heard what is happening
recently. Kingsley wearing a surprised look asked
what it was. “There is a guy who his story is
spreading like that of a celebrity, he said he has a
spirit friend named Isioma and that she told him
about a book she allegedly buried. “I don’t
understand you, what kind of story are you
coming to tell me this morning? Hope you are ok?
Kingsley said.
His friend explained that the stranger has been
considered insane, no one believes his story and
is being monitored closely, in case he is seen
coming near the farm again.
Kingsley wondered to himself, is this Isioma they
are talking about my very own Isioma or what?
How can Isioma that is dead come back and start
searching for something. This whole thing is
confusing me. Let me assume it is true, why
exactly is she searching for this book through this
stranger. Or Is she looking for me? I pray it is not
me ooo… but a smart guy have to think and act
fast. Let me stop assuming, let me go and find
out what is really happening.
Kingsley asked his friend to take him to see the
land where they said the Isioma must have buried
the book. He said within him again; “if it is true
what this strange boy is saying, then I must be
the first to get to where the book is.

Episode 8:
Kingsley went in search of the stranger who was
said to be in town. He strolled down the streets
for many hours asking questions that he could not
find answers to. Finally, he met a woman who
lived close to the farmland where the book was
said to have been buried and she narrated the
incident to him and showed him the hotel where
David was staying.
Kingsley made up his mind to find David by all
means. He stayed in a bar close by and kept a
close eye on David’s hotel in case he was coming
outside anytime soon, after few hours he went
straight to the hotel and demanded for David’s
room. The receptionist at the hotel asked him who
he was and Kingsley claimed he was a journalist
and interested to help David. She placed a call
through to David and informed him that a
journalist was around to see him. David
wondering why he is drawing attention with his
story allowed Kingsley into his room.
I don’t remember calling the media on this issue,
how did you know I am here? David asked
Kingsley in a straight face. Kingsley explained that
he was interested in helping him but he must tell
him everything Isioma had told him about herself.
David trusting Kingsley, started the story. “Isioma
was raped by her brother several times and his
friends also took turns to rape her”. Kingsley at
this point knew he was in deep mess because he
needed no prophet to tell him that the Isioma was
his sister and she was back to avenge her death.
David noticing his change of mood, immediately
asked what the problem was. “I am wondering
how a blood brother can do this, it is very wicked,
but I don’t think anyone would believe this story
of yours, it looks too unreal” Kingsley said. “I
thought so too, but Isioma needs justice and I
must help her bring her brother to book. The
police arrested her lover, thinking it was him who
committed the crime, but there is no prove that he
is innocent” David said.
Kingsley started panting; his eyes were full of grief
and guilt. He knew that if David gets the proof, he
won’t hesitate to bring him down. He decided to
ask David if he knows what the proof to Isioma
lover’s innocence is. “According to her, she wrote
….Isioma immediately appears and shuts him up
as he wanted to speak. “Why don’t you just shut
the hell up, must you tell anyone you see your
plan, what is your problem, you would ruin our
plan” Isioma said angrily. “He is only here to help
us” David explained. Kingsley looked lost; he
wondered who he was talking to. “I know how you
are feeling, please you should know I need
people’s help” David continued.
Not him, not this monster, not this murderer” she
replied in tears. What do you mean? David asked
looking more confused. “Who are you speaking
to” Kingsley asked looking nervous. “She is here,
Isioma is here” David answered. Kingsley stood
up and ran out of the room. David ran after him
asking why he was running away.
Isioma stopped him from further chasing of
kingsley and asked him to let Kingsley go. David
who was already upset at her outburst and
interruption asked her why she doesn’t want him
to help him. He is my brother, the one who raped
me, the one who led me to early death, the one
who took away my self esteem, the one who
pierced my heart. He is the one…”Isioma said.
Why didn’t you just tell me while he was here, s--t,
now that I have given him almost all the gist, what
next? David asked. You have to start looking for a
way to get to that book first, because I know my
brother very well, he can go extra mile just to find
that book. He doesn’t want to spend his life in
prison, we have to think and act fast” Isioma
replied and disappeared.
Kingsley was in his room, thinking of what
happened during the day and wondering what
exactly would be inside the book David was
looking for. Isioma appeared to him angrily,
Kingsley jumped out of the bed “what do you
want from me Isioma, don’t you have respect
anymore” he said, panting. “Oh please, give me a
break big brother, I feel like taking your life right
now, with the anger I am feeling, I want to kill
you, I want to make you suffer, you are a
shameless and wicked human being, I hate you
so much” she said to him.
“It doesn’t make any difference, Isi, you are dead,
rest in peace, and you are becoming a pest. What
are you looking for, get lost, I missed you by the
way, I feel like having you now” he laughed. “God
will punish you, and I will make sure you waste in
jail. Don’t worry, it is a matter of time” she
disappeared.
As the sun rose the next morning, Kingsley
thought of a perfect plan to find whatever David
was looking for. He was not ready to go into
search for the book, because he doesn’t have
such time. He has made up his mind that since
Isioma was not ready to rest in peace and let the
living be, then, he was going to do it the other
way. From all indications, the book seems to be
with the person who dogged the ground, either for
farming or for whatever purpose.
There was no other way to do it. He has decides
to eliminate David and make him rest in peace.

do it the other way. From all indications, the book

Episode 9
A very sunny morning, David woke up in his hotel
room and was feeling lazy, he laid down staring
at the ceiling and figuring out a plan to look for
the book. He stood up and walked from door to
window in the room. He took his bath, took his
bag and left the room, he knew that Kingsley
might come back for him. He left the hotel and
went to another hotel far from the area and
lodged. He went back to the farm to meet the
farm owner to see if he could get any useful
information but then he didn’t meet the man.
A tall, slim, petite lady was on the farm, she had
the eyes that could make the stars shine a
thousand times, she wore a very decent dress and
her smile was charming, she was feeding her pet
at the corner of the farm. “Hello damsel, hi” David
greeted. She turned with a gentle smile and
replied him. “I know who you are, you are the one
that have been making people scared lately, aren’t
you?” she said with a warm smile. “How do you
mean, I am not a monster” he said. “I was only
joking, haba. My name is Kate and I am Mr
Otunba’s daughter, the farmer”. David nodded in
approval and shaked her hands.
They walked down the farm together, he
explained what he came to search for and she
understood him. She decided to help him. “My
father bought this land from a couple few years
back and before my father started cultivating
here, they used this place for a farm too, before
selling it to him. He is ignorant of what you told
him that is why he took the action he took the
other day. I would advice we find the couple who
sold the land for my father. I can talk him to give
me their contact” Kate said. David now happy at
the new development thanked her so much.
They started seeing on a regular basis, going to
functions together and started falling in love with
each other, their love grew so fast. For a week, he
abandoned Isioma’s quest and was all over Kate.
It was as if they had known before now; he had
never felt so loved like he was feeling with Kate.
He has finally found a soulmate, he thought to
himself.
************3 days later*************
In a c--k tail bar close the hotel, David was
waiting for Kate to show up. Kate all dressed up
in a beautiful dinner gown walked down to where
David was already seated. As a gentle man, he
stood up and adjusted her chair for her so she
could seat on it. They got talking and Kate said to
him. “My father has given me the contact to the
couple that sold the land to him, though it took a
lot of work to get it from him” she said to David.
David jumped up and hugged her “thank you so
much, I am very grateful”.
They enjoyed the rest of the night talking, then he
took her home. The next day, he decided to go
and look for the couple. He called the number and
he got through to them. They gave him an
address to come to. On getting there, he met the
man and he introduced himself. After the entire
story. “I knew this day would come, I knew
somebody would come back for it after I saw the
content of the book. It is so sad. I saw the book
while I was working on the farm, she would have
just confided in someone instead of burying the
book, now she is looking for it, It doesn’t make
any sense” the man said.
“You don’t know how happy I am sir, I have gone
through a lot in this quest” David told the man.
The man handed the book over to David and
David left. Isioma who was standing there the
whole while was very happy, she told David that
as soon as he gets to the hotel and settles down,
he should go through the book, afterwards, take it
to the police station.
David took a cab and went to the hotel. He sat on
the bed, settled to a good meal and then looked
through the book. He made a phone call to Kate
and told her to come over. Few hours later, she
came and they spent time together. He kissed her
forehead, took her arms, placed his hands on her
thighs and kissed her body. She rubbed his chest
and kissed his n-----s, she felt like she was on
the moon, she mourned and wished for him to
touch her more. She never knew he was this
romantic. She took of her clothes and laying on
the bed, craving for more touch. He went through
her thighs, smoothened it and went into her…
It was the best night David had with a girl in a
long time and he was happy about it. Kate left him
the next morning and told him he should not
forget to take the book to the police station. Kate
was feeling so loved, she was already deep in love
with David and she has also given him the
opportunity to love her back. She walked to the
gate of the hotel and stood to wait for a cab to
take her home. She stood for about 10mins until a
car drove right in front of her.
She didn’t respond because she thought it was
one of the regular men that just want to woe her.
Before she knew it, two men came from behind
her, dragged her into the car and drove off. She
tried screaming but they covered her mouth. They
slapped her severally inside the car, they asked
her where David was. “I don’t know who David is?
What are you talking about” she asked fearfully.
One of them slapped her again. “Are you mad, do
you think am joking with you, is he not your
boyfriend, you are helping him look for a book,
where is the book?” he asked in a harsh voice.
Her heart was already in her mouth, she was
shivering in fear. Who must have given these
guys all the information, who are they?.
They took her to an uncompleted building,
tortured her but yet she was not ready to disclose
where David was. “I am asking you for the last
time, tell us where David is or we will kill him
when we find him and then return to kill you, when
we see him, we won’t harm him, we just need
something from him, but if you don’t tell us and
allow us go through the stress of finding him by
ourselves, then both of you are gone” he said and
kicked her, leaving her helpless.
